LCSW Supervision
in Falls Church, VA

Virtual supervision available in Virginia and Washington, DC

Supervision is an intentional pause. A space to reflect, ask thoughtful questions, and begin shaping your voice as a clinician. It’s collaborative and grounded, guided by curiosity, compassion, ethics, and integrity.

The right supervisory relationship matters. Beyond meeting licensure requirements, supervision becomes a place to deepen your clinical thinking, explore your questions, and grow into your unique perspective, all while feeling supported as you navigate the complexities of this work.

You might be looking for supervision that:

Feels collaborative, where your perspectives and instincts are valued.

Helps you build confidence in your clinical thinking and decision-making.

Offers space to explore challenges openly, without fear of judgement.

Balances skill-building with curiosity, reflection, and self-awareness.

Supports you in working with complexity, uncertainty, and the realities of clinical work

Helps you develop your clinical voice, not just learn what to do next.

Includes support in areas that are often underrepresented in traditional training, such as illness, sexuality, relationships, and identity.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hi, I’m Lauren. I’m a licensed clinical social worker and have spent my entire career in healthcare, supporting individuals and couples navigating illness, treatment, relationships, sexuality, and identity. Alongside my clinical work, I have found great joy and meaning in supporting newer clinicians in growing their clinical skills, confidence, and professional identity.

One of the things I hear most often from supervisees is that they want to feel more confident in their work. Whether that's navigating difficult clinical situations, developing interventions, managing uncertainty, or finding their own style as a therapist. Supervision can be a space to reflect, learn, and grow without judgement. You don't have to have everything figured out to be a good clinician.

In our first meeting, I take the time to get to know you as a clinician and as a person. We'll talk about your experiences, strengths, areas of growth, professional goals, and what you're hoping to gain from supervision. Understanding who you are and how you work helps me tailor supervision to your unique learning style and needs.

Supervision with me is often a mix of case consultation, skill development, reflection, and professional growth. We will explore case conceptualization, differential diagnosis, interventions, ethics, boundaries, use of self, and the emotional impact of the work. I also believe supervision should support the development of your clinical voice and help you feel more grounded in your decision-making.

I take a collaborative approach and view supervision as a partnership. Together, we'll identify goals, discuss challenges, celebrate growth, and create a space where questions are welcome. Some of my most meaningful learning experiences as a clinician came from being able to openly discuss uncertainty without fear or judgement, and I strive to create that same environment for supervisees.

I'm excited to support you as you continue developing as a clinician. If you have questions about supervision or whether we might be a good fit, please reach out. I'd be happy to connect.
